ACCOMMODATIONS

Tanager Tourism now offers luxury camping. We provide a cozy and economic place to stay where you can be close to natural surroundings and watch the stars at night, even while under the shower!

We have made camping a no hassle experience for you, even when it rains! So far we have completed two ‘ranchos’ with large tents where you can sleep free of bugs on good mattresses! On the raised rancho floor you can relax and leisure in hammocks.

The bathroom and toilets are all ecologically designed and you help us water trees or make compost for the trees! (click to go to reforestation).

We eventually intend to provide three types of accommodation at our ‘Panamagic’ Farm-to-Forest project. So watch this space!

For the time being, the house on the property serves as the common lounge area where you can share experiences with other guests and ourselves. Here we also serve breakfast in the morning and coffee, tea and cold water any time of the day.

OUR PLANS FOR ACCOMMODATIONS IN THE NEAR FUTURE

The ranchos for luxury camping shall be improved further with a extra bathroom and will be equipped with solar panels to provide light in the darkness (currently light with rechargeable lanterns!).

In 2008 we will build a common workshop to get creative with beach wood and a common area with view views of the islands in the ocean and a good impression of our ongoing reforestation activities. We intent to serve breakfast for our rancho guests there.

We have now a small gabion dam in one of the streams that provides an area to cool down your heels. Follow our blog to keep update with our adventures and building plans!

The design of our small hotel accommodation is ready we are waiting for the approval, quotes and the builders… It will have four rooms and should be ready in 2009. Each room shall have its own bathroom and veranda. The construction makes our entrance look rather busy during the year 2008 but we guarantee that it is quite at the ranchos.

Since we started reforestation only in October 2006, the tree canopy is still low and scattered. Nevertheless, amongst the several large existing trees in the area we have already spotted many birds butterflies, and some interesting reptiles! For regular guests it will be a delight to see the tree seedlings grow fast.

If all goes well, in phase three we plan to build a four room canopy accommodation tower and one or two luxury self-catering cottages, which will offer a magnificent view of the gulf of Montijo. Imagine sitting there on your veranda (or lounge in your hammock) with a drink and watch the sun set over Cébaco Island.
